Basic knowledge and tips before operation Demo

This function allows quick access to the vehicle’s ECU, performing TPMS diagnostics, reading IDs from vehicle, writing IDs to the vehicle and reading/clearing codes of tire pressure monitoring system.

The OEM sensor information and specification, and relearn procedure for each vehicle will display on the right side of the screen. Please read the relearn procedure carefully before performing the relearn function.

How to perform TPMS Relearn function?

<1>. Establish the communication with the test vehicle via the MaxiVCI V100. Power on the Display Tablet.

<2>. Turn the ignition on but do not start the engine.

<3>. Tap Relearn tab on the screen and select the specific function to continue. Details are explained in the following sections.

1.OBDII Relearn

This function allows writing the sensor IDs to the TPMS ECU without performing other procedures.

NOTE: Make sure all sensors are checked before performing the OBDII Relearn function

How to perform OBDII Relearn function?

1. Tap OBDII Relearnto write IDs to the vehicle directly without

performing further procedures.

2. A message will appear when the sensor IDs are successfully written.

2.Read IDs from vehicle

This function will read sensor IDs from the test vehicle directly.

How to read IDs from vehicle?

1. Tap Read IDs from vehiclein the Relearn screen.
2. The Display Tablet will display the sensor IDs and positions for you

to view. Tap OK to save data for future review, or Back to exit.

3.Read DTC

How to read DTCs?

1. Tap ReadDTC button from theRelearn screen.
2. A data list of TPMS DTCs retrieved from the vehicle’s ECU will

show up.

4.Clear DTC

How To clear DTCs?

1. Tap Clear DTCfrom the Relearnscreen.
2. The Display Tablet will show a warning message for you to confirm.

Tap Yes to continue, or No to exit.

3. If the erase command is sent successfully, the confirming screen

will display. Tap ESC on the confirming screen to exit Clear DTC.

4. Run Read DTCagain to ensure the operation is successful.

Step-by-step Operation guide:

First of all, come to the car-model select screen (You should select by car manufacturer, model and year).

Here, click “Europe”>>”BENZ”>>”Automatic vehicle identification”

It will ask you to input the VIN. Just enter it and press OK to move on.

Then, make the choice on the type of the engine. Of course, I will choose “Gasoline engine”.

   

THREE different options will appear on this screen.

Click “Quick Test” and the unit will start the scanning process automatically until it finishes detecting all the components of the car.

As we can see, there are 57 car components being scanned right now. It would take a few minutes, ten minutes or so, to complete this process. Just be a little patient.

 

OK, this process is completed right now.

Let’s do further check and know more about the car component’s problem it has scanned.

This unit has helped us quickly detect all around the potential car module problems and it does work to tell us several fault codes. Let’s choose one to see specifically.

Click “2.VGS Transmission control”>>Click “Diagnosis” at the bottom left

It will get into the “Diagnostic Menu”. Four different options as “Control unit version, Fault codes, Erase fault memory, Actual values” are displayed. We will see how each of them works accordingly.

 

1.Control unit version. Basically it will tell you its exact information

2.Fault codes. It will provide the name of the fault code and tell you the meaning of it, basically what’s wrong with this car module.

3.Erase fault memory. Basically after you check carefully again of your car according to the corresponding fault code and its meaning, ensuring no issue existed or get the module repaired or replaced. Then this will help you erase the fault code.

Please remember to turn on the ignition.

 

4.Actual values. It will tell you the specific actual values of the major six items.

Fox example the “Oil temperature”.

Step-by-step operation guide:

After the preparation work, connecting the Key Tool Plus pad with the vehicle by OBD cable, making sure the Wi-Fi is perfectly on, we will start the smart key programming demonstration test.

Come to the “IMMO Programming” option, after selecting the vehicle model and year, click on “Read BCM code and release ELV”>> “Start Programming”>> “Read BCM Code”, the diagnostic pad will tell us to “Switch ignition on”, Yeah, we do it and click “OK” to continue.

We insert the old key into the slot first. Ignition on and click “YES” to continue.

It requires us to input key password again. Do it as required.

Take out the old key and insert the new key that we want to add, turn the ignition on and wait until the IMMO light flashes 5 times.

Part 1.Read Codes

Read Codes menu lets you read trouble codes found in the control unit. Typical menu options include:

• Present/Permanent/Current Codes
• History Codes

Present/Permanent/Current codes stored in a control module are used to help identify the cause of a trouble or troubles with a vehicle. These codes have occurred a specific number of times and indicate a problem that requires repair.

History codes are also referred to as past codes that indicate intermittent DTCs that are not currently active.

1.Select Read Codes from Function Menu and press the OK key. A code list including code number and its description displays.

2.Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through data to select lines, and left and right arrow keys to scroll back and forth through different screens of data.

Part 2.Erase Codes

Erase Codes menu lets you to clear all current and stored DTCs from a selected control module. Also it erases all temporary ECU information, including freeze frame. Erase Codes does not fix the problem that caused the fault! DTCs should only be erased after correcting the condition(s) that caused them.

1.Select Erase Codes from Function Menu and press the OK key. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure.
